Dark Dragon Kenpo™
announces as part of its curriculum, Street Nites.™
Street Nites™
allows the
student to come to class and practice their self defense techniques in
their work / school clothes. The student will practice these techniques
in various settings around the training facility in order to more closely
approximate the real affect of being attacked while performing everyday
tasks. As with most of the curriculum in Dark Dragon Kenpo™,
the focus is on practical, real self defense rather than the sterile, safe
environment of a classroom or dojo setting.
Only through repeated exposure to the real world can the student expect to overcome the "shock" of suddenly having to defend oneself. For warm up and other practice, the student will bring the appropriate footwear for the class. So as not to mar or hurt the training class floor, however, for the Street Nites™ portion they will wear their work / school footwear, to include high heels if that is what is worn. It is said that the "Clothes make the man." In our case, we will find out how the clothes will work with the man or woman, should it ever become necessary. |
